Summer is a Busy Time in Central London
We’re not complaining, of course – we love our visitors (and the massive boost they give to the economy) – but it can get a bit crowded out there. Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St James’s parks, not to mention Buckingham Palace, are all classic tourist destinations and just recently whole families have been seen wilting in the heat.

Well, we’re here to help. Down Street is largely residential and quiet with Christ Church at its top end, over the road from our restaurant. Compared to the rest of the West End, it is a haven of peace and quiet.

At El Pirata, we love kids – and they’ll love the cool air in our basement where there are a couple of alcoves children like to call ‘pirate caves’. And the best thing about tapas, is that the dishes are usually small (kid-sized), and there’s enough variety for even the pickiest child to find something they like. Oh, and even though we’re in one of the most expensive districts in the world, we like to think we offer great value.
